Deputy Director- Program Development & Quality(PDQ)
ROLE PURPOSE
The Deputy Director–Programme Development and Quality (PDQ) will be the programmes lead, supporting the Humanitarian Director. The post-holder will ensure that humanitarian programmes delivered are to the appropriate scale, scope, quality and accountability expected of Save the Children, and incorporate a child focused lens. The post holder will be expected to mentor and/or capacity-build both international and national staff colleagues. The Deputy Team Leader – Programme Development and Quality will also play a role in global level technical working groups, working closely with HO technical advisers on organisational strategy, capacity building, policy and advocacy initiatives.

This position works closely with Project Managers and Field Managers is responsible for ensuring operational systems are developed, implemented and adhered to in order to effectively deliver Save the Children’s EQ projects in Nepal. Specifically, the job-holder is responsible for ensuring timely and quality implementation of those projects which have dedicated project managers. S/he will provide guidance and management support to these Project Managers. The position holder will ensure high quality and result oriented project plans, phased budgets and partnership plans are developed and utilized. In addition, s/he will work with the MEAL team to ensure that M &E tools are developed and used for of the projects, oversee collaboration with partners is optimized and reporting is timely and of high quality.. This position will report to the EQ Deputy Director – Operations
Child Protection Specialist
ROLE PURPOSE
The Child Protection Technical Specialist will ensure that all child protection interventions are of a high technical quality, that monitoring processes are in place, that high quality timely reporting occurs, and that the programme quality and relevance is continually assessed and solutions quickly put in place for a change of context. Current thematic priorities include: case management and children protection systems, psychosocial support and prevention of sexual and gender based violence for the Nepal earthquake response currently on recovery stage based on the 2016-2018 Nepal Earthquake Response Strategy.
